Season 1 Episode 5: Dare Devil

“Word is, Jenny Humphrey killed at Blair Waldorf’s sleepover. It was a debut the likes of which haven’t been seen since Blair herself.”

The two biggest events happening tonight? Serena and Lonely Boy’s date and Blair’s annual sleepover. S is unable to attend the sleepover, so Blair mischievously invites Jenny Humphrey. Meanwhile, Dan worries about how he’ll impress S, so he gathers up his funds and takes her to a fancy restaurant. This doesn’t impress her. Once he realizes this was a bad idea, the two lovebirds take their date to a bar. Then there’s innocent Jenny. She’s surprised by this sleepover: dress-up, martinis, and Truth or Dare. Blair dares Jenny to sneak S’s baby bro, Eric, out of the Ostroff Center. After she does, the group heads to a club. Meanwhile, Rufus calls his wife only to hear another man answer and Lily finds out about her son’s prison break. She calls Rufus and goes to his house to wait for Dan and S to find Eric; Rufus’s wife calls back only to have Lily answer (that’s karma for you). At the club, it’s a Truth or Dare battle with Queen B, who kisses a random guy, and Miss Wannabe, who calls the guy’s girlfriend and tells her. Problems arise when the girlfriend and S and D show up, and the group gets kicked out. S and Dan walk Eric back to the center; his mom later tells him that he can come home. For Dan and Serena, their night ends with a kiss in the street. For Jenny, her final dare is to steal a jacket from Eleanor’s store. Jenny soon finds that B and her friends leave her once the alarm goes off and she’s locked in. However, J evades getting arrested, and returns to the sleepover wearing the jacket. Impressing B, J victoriously heads home. Is J coming after Queen Blair’s royal chair? That’s a secret I’ll never tell. Xoxo, Gossip Girl.
